A. Paravertebral Blocks

To review the anatomy of the paravertebral space and be appraised of the indications for paravertebral block, technical procedure and equipment required.

B. Brachial Plexus: Above Clavicle
     Anne Lui, MD
     Location: L’Orangerie

To review the above clavical brachial plexus approach. Participants will learn the indications, technical procedure and equipment required.

C. Brachial Plexus: Below Clavicle
     Desiree Persaud, MD
     Location: Palladian

To review the axillary and infraclavicular brachial plexus approaches. Participants will learn the indications, technical procedure, and equipment required for each approach.

D. Thoracic Epidural
     Catherine Smyth, MD
     Location: Drawing Room (AM Lecture Room)

To review the anatomy of the thoracic epidural space, indications, contraindications and complications of thoracic epidurals. To compare and contrast lumbar versus thoracic epidurals.

E. Ankle Block and Popliteal Fossa Block

    Location: Gatineau Room

To familiarize participants with the pertinent anatomy of the popliteal fossa and the ankle. To demonstrate landmarks appropriate to these blocks. To discuss local anesthetic solutions used at these sites. To discuss management and care of popliteal fossa catheters.
