Course Overview

Winterlude 2002 Anesthesia Symposium has been planned as a one-day conference which will appeal to both academic and community based anesthetists.

This year the morning session features lectures on several controversial issues in anesthetic practice. The keynote lecture will be given by Dr. Vincent Chan and will address the issue of choices of local anesthetics for acute pain management.

The afternoon small group sessions include new workshops on arrhythmia management, reading a chest x-ray in PACU and acute pain management in children. Airway management, a perennial favorite is also featured.

On Sunday there is an opportunity to attend an Anesthesia Simulation workshop. The planned scenarios will be especially designed for the GP Anesthetist and preference will be given to these individuals when registering.

After the symposium, registrants may wish to participate in some of the activities planned for the weekend during Ottawa’s Winterlude Carnival.

Happy Winterlude.
