Course Overview
Winterlude 2001 Anesthesia Symposium has been
planned as a one-day conference which will appeal to both academic and community-based anesthetists. This
year the Morning Session will feature lectures on Critical Issues in Anesthesia: new modes of ventilation, acute
brain injury, pediatric airway emergencies, anti-coagulation issues and perioperative myocardial ischemia.
The afternoon offers Small-Group Sessions with
5 interesting topics from which one may choose three to attend. The format will use clinical case scenarios
to promote group discussion. This year the session at the U of O Patient Care Simulator will be held on the Sunday
following the symposium and involves an extra fee. The session will be limited to 4 participants and we will
run 4 complete simulated crisis events.
After the Symposium, registrants may wish to participate
in some of the activities planned for the weekend during Ottawa’s Winterlude Carnival.
Accreditation
This symposium has been fully accredited by
the Continuing Medical Education Division of The University of Ottawa. In addition, this symposium has been
