Welcome to the Chronic Pain Unit Anesthesiology Resident Rotation and Pain Clinic Group webpage at the Department of Anesthesiology, The Ottawa Hospital and the University of Ottawa, Canada.
On this webpage you will find information about Anesthesiology Resident rotation on a Chronic Pain Unit at the Ottawa Hospital, as well as about practising pain management at the Pain Clinic at The Ottawa Hospital.
The Ottawa Hospital Pain Clinic serves the needs of adult patients in the Ottawa Champlain LHIN (Local Health Integration Network) suffering with chronic pain.
Chronic pain is defined as “pain lasting longer than three months OR pain persisting beyond the reasonable amount of time for an injury to heal”.
The Pain Clinic offers consultative services for the diagnosis and management of chronic pain disorders of malignant and nonmalignant sources. It also provides opinions and interventional options for managing refractory pain of palliative patients.
Our team is composed of Anesthesiologists, nurses, clerical staff and Radiology technicians.
