An endowment fund is a gift that is invested and provides income to support the Canadian Anesthesia Research Foundation. The principal is retained and continues to provide revenue year after year.
The Canadian Anesthesia Research Foundation has a general, unrestricted endowment fund. Income generated from unrestricted endowments is a priority to provide funding for the various Canadian Anesthesia research awards.
The Canadian Anesthesia Research Foundation also provides donors with opportunities to create Named Endowment Funds. For a gift of $350,000 or more, a Named Endowment Fund can be created in the donor's name, a family name or in honor of an individual who the donor wishes to honor.
An endowment can be created by using the ways of giving mentioned above, whether it is by way of a planned major gift now or a future planned gift in your estate. In the case of a Gift in Kind, CARF will have the asset valued for a disposition so that the cash may be deposited to the endowment fund.
